Conference Scope

The scope of this conference is designed in alignment with the theme “Next Gen Workforce: Reimagine TVET for the Future” to provide a strategic platform for discussion, dissemination, and sharing of contemporary research in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This conference focuses on the development of the new generation workforce through the integration of technology and engineering innovation, the strengthening of global skills and employability, the empowerment of inclusive and sustainable TVET, as well as the enhancement of policies and strategic partnerships between institutions, industry, and the community.

The scope of discussion encompasses research and best practices related to TVET teacher education, pedagogical innovation, digital and green technologies, work-based learning, cross-disciplinary talent development, as well as TVET governance and quality assurance models. This conference also serves as a platform to formulate new strategies for addressing the challenges of industrial transformation, the Industrial Revolution 4.0/5.0, and future skills requirements.

Objective

The objectives of this conference are to:

  • To publish at least 90 papers in Scopus- or MyCite-indexed journals or conference proceedings.
  • To publish an Extended Abstract book with an ISBN, compiling high-quality research summaries as the scholarly documentation of WoCTVET 2026.
  • To gather a minimum of 400 participants, both physically and online, consisting of academics, students, industry practitioners, and policymakers.
  • To conduct one (1) student potential development workshop for local and international university students aimed at enhancing global competencies and graduate employability.
  • To provide a professional development platform for TVET educators through the organisation of at least three (3) workshops related to innovative pedagogical practices and digital technologies.
  • To produce an ISBN-registered book derived from a TVET expert forum, serving as a strategic reference for the future development of the TVET ecosystem.
  • To strengthen UTHM’s reputation as an international TVET reference hub through cross-disciplinary knowledge sharing, including fields such as engineering, green technology, and digital innovation.

Target of Paper Presenters/Participants

The conference is expected to attract presenters from both domestic and international backgrounds. Countries anticipated to make presentations include Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, China, Cambodia, and the Philippines. The primary focus of paper presenters and participants for forum and workshop sessions will be academics, researchers, policymakers, and postgraduate students. Presentations will be conducted in a hybrid manner, featuring both physical presentations and video recordings uploaded on the conference website.

All papers that are accepted and approved will be published in Scopus indexed/MyCite indexed journals.
